Residential vs. Commercial Christmas Light Installation

Homes, storefronts, commercial buildings, and HOA properties can all use the same complete seasonal program, with the design tailored to the property.

Residential and commercial Christmas light installation share the same core service: a custom design, commercial-grade lights supplied through a seasonal loan program, installation, in-season maintenance and bulb replacement, takedown, and off-season storage. The practical difference is the property and the display areas that make sense for it.

Residential Christmas light installation

For a home, the design conversation can focus on the visual areas you want illuminated. Rooflines, gutter lines, trees, and columns are common options. The result is a custom display based on the agreed scope, not a one-size-fits-all package.

Commercial buildings and storefronts

For commercial buildings and storefronts, Surfside also begins with the property and the display areas you want to feature. The free quote identifies the requested scope so the seasonal lighting plan can be designed for that particular location.

HOA properties

HOA properties are within Surfside's confirmed service scope. As with every project, the custom quote is the place to identify the agreed display areas, property access, and seasonal plan. Surfside does not rely on a preset layout for these projects.

What remains the same for every property type

  • Free custom quote and a $750 minimum
  • A 50% deposit after the quote is approved
  • Commercial-grade lights supplied through the seasonal loan program
  • In-season maintenance and bulb replacement
  • Post-season takedown and off-season storage by Surfside for the next year

Seasonal timing

Installation typically occurs November 1–December 24, and takedown typically occurs January 2–January 31. Those windows are approximate and are not guarantees.
